Use Cases

CASE STUDY 1

Accurate BIM as-built models are critical for asset management, facility operations, and future renovation works. However, producing reliable as-built information is often challenging due to incomplete records, undocumented site changes, and limited visibility of installed services. Traditional site verification methods are time-consuming and highly dependent on repeated site visits.

To address these challenges, our team implemented a BIM As-Built production workflow powered by a Digital Twin Platform, enabling faster and more accurate verification of site conditions.

Digital Twin–Enabled Workflow

The project utilized 360-degree site photography captured at key construction milestones and integrated it into our Digital Twin Platform alongside the design and construction BIM models. This allowed project teams to view the BIM model and 360° site imagery side by side within a single digital environment.

By synchronizing spatial locations between the BIM model and the 360° photos, engineers and coordinators were able to quickly identify actual installed services such as MEP components, cable routes, and piping layouts. Discrepancies between the model and site conditions were immediately visible, reducing ambiguity and guesswork during as-built verification.

Key Outcomes

Faster identification and validation of installed services

Reduced dependency on repeated site visits

Improved accuracy of BIM as-built models

Better coordination between design, construction, and operations teams

Value Delivered

The Digital Twin Platform transformed static site records into an interactive, visual reference, significantly improving the efficiency of BIM as-built production. By enabling clear comparison between the BIM model and real-world site conditions, the project team was able to deliver a more reliable digital asset for handover and long-term facility management.

This case demonstrates how Digital Twin–enabled BIM as-built workflows can enhance accuracy, reduce time, and support smarter asset lifecycle management.
